Rakesh Mathur

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Rakesh is a co-founder of Webaroo. He has been a founder of three technology start up companies in the past 10 years and also an early stage investor in several other companies. He was a founder and CEO of Junglee, whose virtual database technology led to the creation of comparison shopping on the Internet. Junglee was acquired by Amazon.com in 1998. He founded Armedia, which was one of the first companies with chip designs for the video component of the DVD standard. Armedia was acquired by Broadcom in 1999. He also founded PurpleYogi, now Stratify which provides enterprise solutions to the management of unstructured data. Rakesh is a board member of Geodesic, a BSE listed company whose Mundu Instant Messenger is used by millions of people.

Rakesh was recognized as a member of the 1998 Upside 100, the 2001 India Today Global 100 and Junglee technology was given the Computerworld - Smithsonian award as one of the top five technologies of 1998. Rakesh received his MS from the University of Texas at Arlington and his B.Tech from IIT Bombay.


Beerud Sheth

Co-Founder & President

Beerud is a co-founder of Webaroo. Prior to Webaroo, Beerud founded Elance, the pioneer of the world's largest online services marketplace. He played various leadership roles at different stages of the company's growth, including developing product and business strategies, product management, marketing & business development, and remains on the board of directors. Prior to founding Elance, Beerud worked in the financial services industry; modeling, structuring, and trading fixed income securities and derivatives at Merrill Lynch and before that at Citicorp Securities. His graduate research, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab, involved developing autonomous learning software agents for personalized news filtering.

Beerud earned an M.S. in computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology & a B.Tech in Computer Science IIT Bombay, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal.


Viswanath Ramachandran

Vice President, Engineering

Vishy leads the development, testing and deployment of Webaroo's software products and services. Prior to Webaroo, he worked in various engineering and management roles at Netscape, Siebel and Digeo. Vishy has a Masters and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from IIT, Bombay. His Ph.D. research has been published in international journals and conferences and his prior work in the industry has been granted patents.


Chirag Jain

Vice President, India Operations

Chirag is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi with nearly two decades of experience with both US and Indian companies. Most recently Chirag was the Vice President and General Manager - India operations for a US based enterprise software company firstRain Inc. For firstRain Chirag first built the engineering and then the professional services organization to support an enviable list of Fortune 500 live-customers


Gaurav Kachhawa

Vice President, Products

Gaurav leads product strategy and management for Webaroo’s products. He has over 13 years of diverse product design and development experience working at Elance, IBM and Ernst & Young. Most recently he was Sr. Director of Product Management at Elance, the leading online services marketplace. Joining Elance as an early team member, he helped conceptualize and grow the product lines to acquire millions of users. Prior to that, Gaurav worked at IBM and E&Y, where he led the design and implementation of various products in consumer finance and supply-chain verticals. Gaurav holds a B.Tech in Engineering from IIT, Bombay.


Dylan Carlson

Vice President, Operations

Dylan leads the design, deployment and growth of Webaroo's systems and network infrastructure. Dylan brings in over 16 years of experience in heterogeneous systems engineering with senior and management roles at Alldata, Autozone, 3Path and Hewlett-Packard Co. As a consultant, he designed and implemented Internet architectures for many, large and small, financial and medical firms in New York. Dylan studied aerospace engineering before pursuing career opportunities in IT. He is an active supporter of open source software and protocols. He has been a direct contributor to Linux and FreeBSD operating systems since the 1990s.
